Brooks & Dunn LIVE!

Thursday we went to see Brooks and Dunn in Louisville, KY. INCREDIBLE! They sounded exactly like they do on all their CDs - FANTASTIC. I was absolutely blown away. I much preferred their concert over Kenny Chesney and even Carrie Underwood, mostly because I love Brooks and Dunn.

They played some classics like My Maria and Momma Don't Get Dressed Up for Nothin' and some newer songs like Hillbilly Deluxe and Cowboy Town. They left the stage and I was so disappointed because they didn't play Brand New Man, one of my very first favorite country songs... but then they reappeared for an encore and played Brand New Man and Boot Scootin' Boogie - I was so happy.

Also playing at the concert was ZZ Top... I'd never heard of them before and we stayed for about 3 songs - it was really loud and I couldn't understand anything they were saying... and they had long creepy gray beards. Apparently they're really popular though because one of my co-workers the next day said he would have loved to see them...

Schweizer Fest!

This weekend we went to the annual Schweizer Fest in Tell City - they were celebrating the city's 150th anniversary! The Schweizer Fest had all kinds of vendors, food stands, rides, and a beer garden (that was too crowded to enjoy). After the Schweizer Fest we met up with Kenton's friend from Siberia, Indiana, Tracey. We went to DQ and I learned a lot about Interior Design (Tracey's degree), which is MUCH different than interior decorating.

We were also able to spend some time with Josh and Alyssa, Kenton's nephew and niece (cute pictures below).

Wedding in Bloomington

On Saturday we drove to Bloomington for Leah's wedding, one of Kenton's friends from home. She married Louis, a guy with a great sense of humor as we found out during the reception. The wedding was at 2pm and Kenton had asked someone at work if Bloomington was on the same time as us and he said it were... we were 45 minutes late for the wedding because it's on Eastern time.

The reception was a good time though - smaller, intimate crowd in a beautiful setting. It was great getting to know some of Kenton's friends.

Josh's 4th Birthday Party

On Saturday, we went to Josh's (Kenton's newphew) 4th birthday party in a park - complete with a castle playground. It was pretty hot outside, but the shelter we were under provided some relief. The birthday party was themed "Iron Man" - apparently a new superhero I'd never heard of. The cake was delicious with cool whip frosting!

Chuck E Cheese

Today we went to Chuck E Cheese with Kenton's cousin and his family, including two adorable kids - Matthew and Jacob.

I played a new game that the player uses tension in a lever to keep a moving ball in the moving green section of the game. The ball moves faster and faster making it more difficult and more frustrating.

Thai Papaya Cuisine!

We finally got a Thai restaurant in Evansville and it is fantastic and authentic! I can't get enough of the sticky rice, green curry and chicken pad thai! Yum! They opened July 17 and I've been there at least three times in the last week!
